About 20 construction projects in the historical part of the city were considered in Kazan

(KZN.RU, April 4). About 20 construction projects in the historic part of Kazan have been discussed today by the members of the interdepartmental commission on urban development in historical settlements. The session of the interdepartmental commission was held by Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT.

Asgat Safarov, the head of the Presidential Administration of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Olesya Baltusova, an assistant to the President of the RT, Rimma Ratnikova, the deputy chairman of the State Council of the RT, Irek Faizullin, the minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing of the RT, and others took part in the meeting. The projects were presented by Tatiana Prokofieva, the chief architect of Kazan.

The first was an investment project for the construction of a restaurant of national cuisine “Shirvan” on Gladilov Street. The second object is a complex of residential buildings on Yapeev Street, it caused criticism precisely because of the large-scale decision of the project. Next was the project of a complex of buildings in the area of Petrov Park. It is planned to build two residential buildings and an office center with a height of up to 6 floors.

Further, the project of construction of the center of consumer services on Engels Street was approved.

The project of a 2-storey building on K. Zetkin Street, in which the object of trade will be placed, was also approved with the condition of finishing the facade.

One-story individual residential building on Sh. Kamal Street and a three-story apartment house on Shchepkin Street also did not cause criticism.

The next project, a five-story residential complex on Kalinin Street, didn’t receive approval because of the height of the building.

The project for the construction of a residential complex with an underground parking on Gladilov Street didn’t cause criticism.

Members of the commission approved the completion of the unfinished facility on Ershov Street, №29 (reconstruction of a 6-storey administrative building), as well as the reconstruction of an already existing facility (hotel) on. K. Marx Street, №42a.

Architect Oleg Maklakov presented the draft concept of urban development “Coastal territory of Lake Kaban”. He told about the principles of building development taking into account historical analysis and determination of the high-rise construction parameters.

Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, said that the concept of development should take into account that the area around Lake Kaban will become one of the most attractive places in Kazan. “We need a concept that will preserve the historical appearance of our capital”, said Rustam Minnikhanov. According to him, perhaps, Kazan will come to what Moscow is doing today, which is the demolition of the old “Khrushchevkas”.

It was decided that the concept of the development of the area around Lake Kaban will be finalized taking into account certain requirements.

In addition, it was decided to refine the concept of further development of the Yagodnaya Sloboda.

The final project was the construction of an annex to the shopping pavilion in the historical development zone of the city of Chistopol along L. Tolstoy Street. The owner is interested in expanding retail space. The project is coordinated with the Ministry of Culture of the RT. Members of the interdepartmental commission also approved this project, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
