I. Metshin about Top Sprint: “The geography of participants was very pleasing”
(KZN.RU, March 5, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). It is necessary to support the longing of Kazan citizens for sports, noted Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, on the Business Monday. He thanked the staff of the Executive Committee and the citizens for taking part in the competitions for the Mayor of Kazan Cup on cross-country skiing Top Sprint, which took place on March 3 in the territory of the international equestrian complex “Kazan”.
Almost 200 amateur skiers from Tatarstan, Chuvashia, Mari El and other regions of Russia, as well as Uzbekistan, registered to participate in the tournament. The victory among women went to Kristina Pribylova from Nizhnekamsk, among men – Artur Petrov from Zainsk. At the same time with the main race, there was a special one for honorary guests. The first at the finish was Edward Abdullazyanov, the rector of the Kazan State Energy University, the second – Denis Kalinkin, the head of the Kazan Executive Committee, the third – Irek Mukhametshin, the head of the Financial Department.
I. Metshin noted that the athletes showed good results. “I am very pleased with the number of participants and geography. I assumed that only Kazan citizens will take part but there were our neighbors from Udmurtia and distant cities”, noted the Mayor. “It is very important that we set an example in our free time from work, an example of a healthy lifestyle. Let it be a good tradition. Any form of the desire to play sports we will be supported”.
