(KZN.RU,
December 31). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, congratulated residents of the
capital of Tatarstan on the New Year and wished happiness and prosperity in
2018.
“Dear Kazan
citizens!
The
long-awaited and beloved holiday New Year is coming. Filled with the light of
the family hearth, it gives faith in the best and encourages summing up the
main results of the outgoing year.
We have
implemented many mega-projects in recent years from ultramodern sports
complexes to high-tech medical centers. And now it's time to put our roads,
yards, and polyclinics in priority. In the outgoing year, we actively repaired
our central streets and driveways, putting in order 2 times more than a year
earlier. We repaired our yards. And now, over the last six years, more than
half of the Kazan yards have been done. All city polyclinics were overhauled.
We repaired our oldest houses of culture and opened two new schools.
The
overhaul program continues, thanks to which many houses were put in order but
even more are planned in the coming year. We repaired almost half of Kazan's
housing stock for ten years of the program. Finally, projects started, of which
we have been dreaming for more than a decade! We began a difficult work to save
the Lebyazhie Lake, restoring two lakes and preventing the third one from
disappearing. Thanks to the investment program, new construction is again
possible in three districts of the city. Samosyrovsky waste ground will be only
in memory and will turn into a big green hill in the coming year.
All the
changes that take place make our dear Kazan an even more comfortable city and
serve one goal to improve people's quality of life. I am confident that we will
change Kazan even more, implementing our new projects. To host matches of the
World Cup in football worthy is among the immediate tasks.
I
wholeheartedly wish all Kazan citizens health, happiness, and prosperity! Let
2018 be the year for all to fulfill the most cherished wishes and the most
daring plans! May success and luck be your constant companions both on holidays
and on weekdays. And let the love and care of your loved ones warm you in any
weather!” says the greeting.
