R. Minnikhanov and I. Metshin take part in the XVII congress of the United Russia party in Moscow

(KZN.RU, December 23). Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, and Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, take part in the XVII congress of the United Russia party in Moscow. The main subject of the party forum is the election of the President of the RF on March 18, 2018.

The two-day event with the participation of Vladimir Putin, the President of the RF, and Dmitry Medvedev, the prime minister of the RF, was opened in the capital yesterday. About 2.5 thousand people gathered at the congress. This is about 500 delegates from 85 regional branches of parties, heads of ministries and departments, State Duma deputies, representatives of executive and legislative authorities of regions, secretaries of regional political councils of the party, experts, and scientists. In particular, the participants of the congress were State Duma deputies from Tatarstan Alexander Sidyakin, Oleg Morozov, Airat Farrakhov, Marat Bariev, Irek Zinnurov, and others, representatives of the Kazan City Duma, and Tatarstan and Kazan branches of parties.

The Presidium of the General Council of United Russia was held within the framework of the XVII party congress, where it was decided to reformat the project activities. According to this decision, the number of party projects was optimized to 14 ones. Coordinators and chairmen of public councils of updated party projects were appointed during the meeting. Dmitry Medvedev, the chairman of the party, gave this order by the results of the meeting of the commission for monitoring the implementation of the pre-election program.

The project “Urban Environment” is united under the same name with the project “Parks of Small Cities”. The head of the public council is Rustam Minnikhanov, a member of the bureau of the Supreme Council, the President of the RT, reports the press service of the President of the RT.

Speaking at the XVII party congress, Vladimir Putin, the President of the Russian Federation, said that United Russia earned its leadership by real deeds in the interests of citizens and for the benefit of the regions and the whole country. “We created the party together with a lot of people in this hall. We did it at the difficult, extremely responsible stage of the life of our state when a powerful unifying political force is needed for the country's confident development, strengthening of statehood, and solving large-scale tasks. And the United Russia has fulfilled, is fulfilling, and will to fulfill this task. I am very pleased to say this. I want to thank you for it”, said the head of the country.

Vladimir Putin urged members of the party to honestly mark the problems of the country and persistently resolve them. “The main thing is to honestly identify unresolved problems. To solve them persistently eliminating what prevents us from going forward, set even larger goals and achieve results. A lot of important, urgent cases are ahead of us. And all that we managed to do is only a foundation, not a guarantee of further successful development”, marked the President of Russia.
