(KZN.RU,
September 1). Today Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, took part in a
festive prayer on the occasion of the holiday of Kurban Bayram in the
Galeevskaya Mosque of Kazan. Vasil Shaikhraziev, the deputy prime minister of
Tatarstan, Asgat Safarov, the head of the Presidential Administration of the
RT, and Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, were also present at the event.
Kamil
khazrat Samigullin, the mufti of the RT, held the festive namaz. Before that,
he read congratulatory telegrams from Vladimir Putin, the President of the RF,
and Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, addressed to the Muslim
Spiritual Board of Tatarstan and all Muslims of the republic.
In the
course of the traditional sermon, Kamil khazrat Samigullin spoke about the deep
meaning of the sacrifice, in particular, urged not to reduce it only to the
outside part of the issue. The true meaning of the ritual lies not in the
slaughter of the animal but in obedience and piety, he said. The annual
sacrifice of animals is a symbolic expression of willingness to sacrifice all
of the possessions for the sake of worship and submission to the command of
Allah.
This year,
the Kurban Bayram in Russia coincided with the Day of Knowledge. On this
occasion, Kamil khazrat Samigullin mentioned the importance of education in
human life. He noted that Muslim scholars have made a huge contribution to the
development of world science. Muslim scholars of Tatarstan left their mark on
history. Madrasahs existed in Baghdad, where the works of Shigabutdin
Mardzhani, Galimjana Barudi, Murat Ramzi, and others were studied.
At the end
of the sermon, a festive prayer was held in the mosque, reports the press
service of the President of the RT.
