August 14, Anton Nozdrin). The Kazan Children's Music School №1 named after
Tchaikovsky became the winner of the All-Russian competition “50 best
children's art schools”. The competition was held among art schools throughout
the country. Azat Abzalov, the head of the Department of Culture, reported this
today on the Business Monday in the Kazan City Hall.
“The
competition was high. This year, after passing regional selections, 102 schools
from 65 regions of Russia reached the finals at the federal level”, said A.
Abzalov. According to him, the selection criteria were 15 indicators, including
the history of the school, the development program of the institution, the
achievements of students and teachers at the all-Russian level. The winning school
will receive a cash prize of 100 thousand rubles to hold events for its
talented students at a solemn ceremony in Moscow in November.

noted that this is the first school in Kazan, with which the history of art
schools of the city began. This year the institution celebrated its 80th
anniversary.

Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, congratulate the school staff and pupils. The head
of the city reminded that the graduate of the school was talented composer
Sofia Gubaidulina and many other famous musicians. “I am glad that the school
keeps its standards high and continues to please us with its talented graduates
and victories”, said I. Metshin.
