June 23). Today much has already been done in the framework of the
implementation of the priority projects “Safe and qualitative roads” and
“Formation of a comfortable urban environment” both in Kazan and in other
cities of the country. Arkady Dvorkovich, the deputy Prime Minister of the RF,
told this during a meeting on the implementation of these priority projects in
Tatarstan today.
The meeting
was held in the Tatarstan Government House. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President
of the RT, and Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, took part in it.
According
to Arkady Dvorkovich, additional resources for the implementation of projects
allow taking a new step forward. “The increased attention is paid to these
projects, on which federal and republican funds have been allocated. The main
goal is to improve road safety and create a comfortable urban environment”, he
said. “Along with these funds, it is a great responsibility”.
Rustam
Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, also marked that both these subjects
are relevant for the region, projects on safe roads and the formation of a
comfortable urban environment are being successfully implemented, and they are
very well received by the population.

Minnikhanov said that in accordance with the agreement concluded between
Tatarstan and Rostavtodor in 2017, a set of measures to bring the road network
into the normative state is realized and. As a consequence, the number of road
accidents in the Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny agglomerations is declining.
He reminded
that the Kazan agglomeration includes Kazan and 7 municipal districts: Laishevsky, Pestrechinsky, Vysokogorsky,
Zelenodolsky, Verkhneuslonsky, Arsky, and Tyulyachinsky. There are 73 places of
concentration of road accidents. The financing of the project is 2.4 billion
rubles, including 1.2 billion rubles of federal funds. Repair of 120 km of
highways will be carried out at the expense of these funds, and measures to
eliminate 52 places of concentration of accidents will be taken.
The
Naberezhnye Chelny agglomeration includes Naberezhnye Chelny and a number of
adjoining municipal districts, where 27 places of concentration of road
accidents are located. It is planned to repair 63 km of roads and eliminate 9
places of traffic accidents concentration within the project. Financing of the
project is 1250 billion rubles, including half of the amount from the federal
budget. At present, works in the Naberezhnye Chelny agglomeration have already
been completed for 578 million rubles or 46%.
