Ilsur Metshin: “Residents of Derbyshki will receive a pool for the New Year as a gift”

(KZN.RU, June 13, Alsu Safina). The residents of Derbyshki will receive the remarkable gift by the New Year: the indoor swimming pool, which is being built next to the stadium “Raketa”. They have been waiting for it for a long time. Now there are works carrying out on the site. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, for familiarized with the progress of construction and noted that everything should be done qualitatively and on time. In addition, the Mayor inspected the construction of a sports ground, which will soon appear on the territory of school №72 of the Sovetsky district.

On his way to the construction site of the future pool, the Mayor of Kazan, accompanied by Rustem Gafarov, the head of the the Sovetskiy district’s administration, Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports, and Almaz Fazulzyanov, the director of the Sports School “Raketa”, visited the stadium with the same name. Pupils of the children's and youth sports school, which are engaged in bandy, were training there at that time.

The Mayor greeted the boys and asked them about their sports success and interest and what the team plans to do in the summer. According to the instructor of young hockey players, the children will go to the sports camp “Sputnik” in the summer.

The future the indoor swimming pool, which is being built next to the stadium, will be that training site for pupils of the children's and youth school “Spectrum” as well, which is also located in Derbyshki. Albert Salikhov, the director of the pool and the director of the Children's Sports School, told the Mayor that 660 children are studying in their institution of additional education in 5 directions: badminton, tennis, rugby, taekwondo, and billiards. One more direction will be opened after the putting the swimming pool into operation: swimming lessons are planned to begin in the 2018-2019 academic year. 3 trainers will conduct the work, and 160-180 children will be able to learn swimming on a budgetary basis.

In addition to classes for pupils of the sports school, the residents of the micro-district will be able to visit the pool. The capacity of the pool will be almost 600 people per day, and the one-time capacity is 44 people.

110.55 million rubles have been allocated for the construction of the pool, of which 28 million rubles have been allocated from the federal budget and 82.55 million rubles from the republican budget. In addition, 46.7 million rubles were allocated for improvement and external networks on behalf of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT.

The construction of the new facility started in late March this year. Marat Samigulin, the head of the Department of Capital Construction and Reconstruction, showed the Mayor a territory of 0.57 hectares, on which the pool will be located. The area of the building will be 1270 square meters. The structure will include a swimming pool for adults, a children's pool, and a group of general facilities and a room for the disabled (dressing room, bathroom).

The Mayor of Kazan asked when the work would be completed and the residents of the micro-district could visit the pool. According to the representative of the organization, the main works will be completed by November, and the opening of the facility is scheduled for December. At the moment, work has been performed on the installation of piles, and pool’s bottoms are being prepared.

“By the New Year, the residents of Derbyshki will receive a pool as a gift, the most important object for the infrastructure of the micro-district”, said Ilsur Metshin. 200 children and 400 adults will be able to swim daily, without leaving the micro-district thanks to the pool”, said the Mayor.

“I ask you to work on the schedule, to do everything qualitatively and with dignity. The neighborhood is very beautiful, and the pool should match it”, noted Ilsur Metshin.

Another feature of the pool is that it is created according to a project that can be replicated throughout the republic. Almaz Mingulov, the deputy minister for Youth Affairs and Sports of the RT, said that the new federal target program “Development of Physical Culture and Sports in the Russian Federation for 2016-2020” was adopted in 2016. Priority in the framework of this program is the construction of low-budget buildings worth up to 100 million rubles. The pool project, which is being built by the company “Fortex”, was developed by the OOO “Sovpro”.

“The project passed a competitive selection in the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation. It is in demand in a few areas in our republic where there are also not enough sports facilities. The project is typical and can be applied not only in Tatarstan. It can be used by other regions since it is in the public access”, said Almaz Mingulov. “The pools built for this project are inexpensive (up to 100 million rubles without networks) and efficient in operation”.

In addition to the pool in the Sovetsky district, there will be other sports objects this year. In particular, it is planned to open 3 universal sports grounds within the republican program. One of them will be located on the territory of school №72 (Druzhba Street, №1). Almost 4 thousand local residents will be able to work out on this site.

Natalia Smolkina, the director of the school №72 with teaching in German, said that the hockey box appeared at the school 10 years ago. Now it is being reconstructed in such a way that the object can be used all year round: in the winter as a full-fledged hockey box with good ice, and in summer as a playground for futsal.

In addition, it is planned to arrange simulators and small sports forms for the GTO standards near the hockey box. Those simulators will be adapted for both high school students and primary school students. Also, a much-demanded bicycle parking will be organized on the territory of the school.

After inspecting the sports ground, the head of the city together with contractors and other participants of the meeting discussed the details and timing of the project. A new ground in the school is expected by the end of the month.

 From 2013 to 2016, 65 sports grounds in Kazan and 671 sports grounds in Tatarstan appeared due to the republican program. In total, 100 sports grounds, 15 of them in Kazan, 20 hockey boxes with artificial cover, dressing room, and tribunes for 100 persons, and 11 ski bases in the regions of the RT are being constructed this year.
