(KZN.RU,
March 23). The Kazan General Plan was discussed today in Moscow at the working
meeting with the participation of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT,
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Irek Faizullin, the Minister of Architecture
and Housing of the RT, Tatiana Prokofieva, the chief architect of Kazan, and
others.
Earlier
representatives of Tatarstan applied for help to Moscow colleagues about
planning the borders of the region’s capital and using modern trends in urban
development.
Marat
Khusnullin, the deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Development Policy and
Construction, spoke about the urban planning and the regulation of automobile traffic
on city highways in Moscow. He also shared his experience in the implementation
of the demolition program of the capital's “khrushchevka”: apartment blocks of
typical series, mostly 5-story, massively erected in the USSR from the late
1950s to the early 1980s.
During the
meeting, Moscow experts proposed to determine the real boundaries of Kazan.
Today the so-called Kazan agglomeration already attracts thousands of people
from other settlements of Tatarstan. Clear statistics are needed on the number
of specialists coming to the city to determine the directions, in which Kazan
is to “grow”.
In
addition, the issue of the project “Big Kazan” implementation was raised. As
the President of Tatarstan noted, such settlements as Zelenodolsk, Laishevo,
Verkhneuslonsky region of the republic will fall into this zone in the future.
Rustam
Minnikhanov instructed Irek Fayzullin, Ilsur Metshin and Tatiana Prokofieva to
carefully analyze the suggestions made during the meeting on the development of
the transport infrastructure of the Tatarstan’s capital, reports the press
service of the President of the RT.
