February 3, Alsu Safina). Today, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, met with
representatives of the international technology company “Uber”. The Mayor
praised the quality of the company at the meeting. Representatives of the
“Uber” noted that Kazan won the third place in Russia after Moscow and St.
Petersburg in the charitable project of the company.
“Of the
products that appeared on the market in recent years thanks to new
technologies, I was most of all impressed and amazed by the “Uber”, said Ilsur
Metshin, opening the meeting. “As we look at everything through the prism of
the convenience to the public, this is a very high quality product. We want to
see it developed in Kazan”. The Mayor himself, he said, used the company's
services while he was abroad.

Gore-Coty, the head of the “Uber’ in Europe, Middle East and Africa, spoke
about the company's history, which began its work in 2009. Now you can order
the machine with the application in 500 cities around the world, and 1.5
million people are the drivers of the “Uber”. Pierre-Dimitry Gore-Coty drew
attention to the fact that the company is also working to reduce traffic
congestion and air pollution in cities by more rational use of cars.
The company
is present in 16 Russian cities, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh,
Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Novosibirsk and others. The “Uber” has started to
work in Tatarstan in September 2015. Today, the international technology
company and the Ministry of Information and Communication of the RT announced
the signing of a letter of intent. The document aims to explore the
possibilities of information technologies application to improve the mobility
of people in the region.

Izmailov, the general director of the “Uber Technology”, said that the company
implements a charity project for last couple of years, in which the capital of
Tatarstan took part last year. “Kazan took the third in Russia after Moscow and
St. Petersburg. More than 700 people in Kazan passed about 500 kg of clothes
for charity through our application”, said Dmitry Izmailov. The project will be
implemented this year, too.

Gore-Coty noted during the meeting that the company's plans are to expand its
presence in Kazan and Russia.

Nigmatullin, the first deputy head of the Ministry of Defense of Kazan, Damir
Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, Evgeny Varakin,
the head of the Executive Committee, Rifat Khannanov, the head of Information
Technology and Communications, and others also participated in the meeting.
