(KZN.RU, September 12). The Eid al-Adha, one of the main Muslim holidays, is celebrated today. Festive services were held in all mosques in Kazan. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, and Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, took part in the festive namaz in the Kul Sharif mosque.
Jalil hazrat Fazlyev, the chief kazy of Tatarstan, held a celebratory prayer this year. More than a thousand of Tatarstan citizens, headed by Kamil Hazrat Samigullin, Tatarstan Mufti, make a pilgrimage to Mecca these days.
Addressing the audience with a sermon, Jalil hazrat Fazlyev spoke about the history of the Eid al-Adha. The Chief kazy of the RT urged parishioners during the holiday to make only good deeds, in particular, to take care of the sick and the elderly, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
Festive prayer was begun at 5.40 in mosques of Kazan. The ritual slaughter of sacrificial animals begins after the Eid prayer, which will be held over three days - from 12 to 14 September. 17 special places prepared for the ceremony in the capital of Tatarstan.
