(KZN.RU, June 4, by Renat Shirmanov). A project of Kazanka riverside improvement was presented to the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
According to the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, the project includes the reconstruction of the hydraulic structures, the improvement of the waterfront, and the installation of wastewater treatment facilities.
The mayor assured that the administration of Tatarstan and Kazan will create favorable conditions for foreign and domestic investors in order to provide effective financing of the project.
The completion of the entire project will take time, but some of its parts are scheduled to be completed by the start of the Universiade.
The shoreline will be improved between the Kazan Kremlin and the compressor plant on the left bank and between the new stadium and the Kirov Bridge on the right bank.
There are plans to build new hotels, cafes, restaurants, entertainment centers, walking paths, boat stations, water-sports clubs, cinemas, art galleries, offices, and construct venues for events of urban and regional significance. A park zone with promenades, sports grounds, beaches, jogging and cycling paths is to be laid out.
To afford an unobstructed view of the Kremlin, all new structures will be low-rise.
