Thousands of Kazan residents sang the Russian national anthem and painted the sky in the colors of the Russian tricolor

(Kazan City KZN.RU, June 12, Kseniya Shvetsova). Today at the Kremlin embankment on the bank of the Kazanka River thousands of residents and visitors gathered to celebrate the Day of Russia. They took part in the competitions, sang the national anthem of the Russian Federation and let balloons of colours of the Russian go into the sky. Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Deputy Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Yuri Kamaltynov, as well as activists of the Kazan Center of volunteerism congratulated all the participants with a holiday.

Main holiday venues of the city situated opposite the park of the Palace of farmers. Here, for all those who decided to join the celebration, children and student creative teams - winners of republican and national festivals performed. All who wished made tricolor via aqua make-up, ribbons with the colors of the Russian flag were handing out to all those present as a gift.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov addressed to the audience with a video message on the waterfront. Also the Prime Minister of Tatarstan has congratulated Kazan residents on the occasion. "Exactly 26 years ago in the same day, June 12, the Declaration of State sovereignty adopted, and every year we celebrate this wonderful holiday of the country. It represents strength, unity and strength of the Russian regions, including - Tatarstan, cities and towns of our republic, - I.Halikov addressed the audience. - It is a special holiday for us: we have a strong defense industry, a large number of higher education institutions, enterprises, that enables us to be proud of a strong Tatarstan, strong Russia". The Prime Minister congratulated Kazan residents behalf of the President of the Republic, the Chairman of the Council of State and the Government and wished success to the citizens.

Kazan Mayor also appealed to residents and visitors with the words of congratulations, noting that the Day of Russia is the most important holiday for all inhabitants of the country. "Together we are proud that we live in the best city, in the best republic, in the best country. I warmly congratulate you on this wonderful holiday!", - I. Metshin said.

Ceremony of raising the flag of the Russian Federation was held on holiday site. Honor to hold the flag was given to outstanding representatives of youth of the city. So the ceremony was attended by the head of the local public organization “Youth of Kazan“, the winner of the 10th "Student of the Year" annual award Adina Kulmasova, student of University of Management "TISBI", the head of the Kazan Center of volunteerism Julia Nagovitsina and others.

At the end of the official part of the festival action "I love my home" tool place: each of the men on the embankment got balloons of colors of the Russian tricolor, as well as a marker to write personal wish the country on the balls. All gathered let the balloons, coloring the sky in blue, white and red colors, under the Russian national anthem by the choir of hundred of Kazan students.

Recall, national holiday appeared 26 years ago: June 12, 1990 at the first Congress of People's Deputies of RSFSR the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Russia adopted, which proclaimed the supremacy of the Russian Constitution and its laws. Memorable date acquired state value in 1994, and got today's name - "Day of Russia" - in 2002.
