Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Fund of monuments revival was held in Kazan
(Kazan City KZN.RU, 29 April). An expanded meeting of the Board of Trustees of the National Fund for revival of historical and cultural monuments of RT was held in Kazan Kremlin. The event was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and others.
Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that November 4, 2015 he had signed a decree "On creation of the Bulgarian Academy of Islam and the reconstruction of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan". Tatarstan President noted that the simultaneous construction of two significant sites for Muslims and Orthodox fully meet Tatarstan policies to strengthen international peace and harmony.
Head of the republic informed the audience that the laying of a memorial stone at the construction site of the Academy is scheduled on May 21 in the day of the official adoption of Islam in Volga Bulgaria, and on July 21, the day of acquisition of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God - laying of foundation stone of the temple on the territory of the Kazan Mother of God Monastery is planned. It is assumed that in the laying of the foundation stone of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill will arrive, the portal of Tatarstan Government informs.
