Kazan will host an international rally "Silk Road-2016"

Meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the international rally "Silk Road-2016" was held today by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The event was held at the Cabinet of Ministers, and in it was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan - Head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan Shamil Gafarov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeyev, director of the project "Silk Road" - the head of the team "KAMAZ-Master" Vladimir Chagin and others.

The ceremonial start of the international rally "Silk Road" will be held on July 8, 2016 on Red Square in Moscow and the race will be completed on July 26 in the center of Beijing. The total length of the route is 8500 km, of which more than half is the stages. The route runs through three countries: Russia, Kazakhstan and China. Athletes will visit Kazan also.

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan is famous for its history and traditions, and also has extensive experience in hosting major international sporting events. "This year in Kazan the most skilled athletes from different countries will meet again, including both experienced masters and young novice drivers, - RT President said. - I am confident that the athletes will be worthy at all the stages of the route, will demonstrate the best professional and human qualities, will give fans the unforgettable moments of triumph and pride about the achievements of their favorite teams".

Rustam Minnikhanov expressed confidence that Russia will reaffirm its status of one of the recognized centers of world auto sport. Then the participants of the organizing committee have discussed the main points of the rally "Silk Road-2016", considered some of the organizational and technical issues.
