(KZN.RU, April 4). The presentation of Kazan and the Universiade-2013 was held in Turkey within the second Asian Mayors Forum.
Kazan took part in the Asian Mayors Forum which was held in March 31 – April 3, 2011 in Istanbul. The theme of the meeting was the "Impact of World Financial Crisis on the Economy of Asian Cities". City officials and representatives exchanged views on such issues as the international financial crisis in the past few years, city-to-city cooperation, urban management, job creation and unemployment.
Ludmila Andreeva, Deputy Mayor of Kazan said that there were mayors of Istanbul, Teheran, Ankara, Aleppo, Budapest, Kabul, Tripoli, Tbilisi, Plovdiv, Cologne, Beirut and other cities. Besides numerous Asian cities there were European municipalities such as: Germany, France, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria. The capital of Tatarstan presented Russia.
Kazan delegation met with Kadir TOPBAŞ, Mayor of Istanbul and Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Mayor of Tehran to discuss the further cooperation between cities. Note that it is planned the opening of a park n. a. Gabdulla Tukay during the Sabantuy in the central part of Istanbul by the end of May, 2011.
Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan became on the board; Kadir TOPBAŞ, Mayor of Istanbul was elected Chairman of the Asian Mayors Forum organization.
