Ilsur Metshin awarded medals to winners of World Swimming Championships

(Kazan City KZN.RU, August 3, Albert Murtazin). Today, in "Kazan Arena" swimming competitions in several disciplines ended - 4 sets of awards have been played. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin handed medals to winners of the final men 50-meter butterfly swimming.

In the final swim French athlete Florent Manaudou won the gold medal, finishing with the result of 22.97 seconds. Nicholas Santos from Brazil took silver, and the bronze was shared by Laszlo Cseh from Hungary and Konrad Chernakov from Poland.

In the men swim at 100-meters British swimmer Adam Petey became the first, athlete from South Africa won the silver medal, and bronze went to another British swimmer Ross Murdoch.

Competitions among women have pleased fans with new world records. During the final competition the women's 200 m medley Hungarian Katinka Hoshsu set a new world record, finishing with a result of 2: 06.12. Yesterday K.Hoshsu set a new European record in qualifying in the 200 meters medley. The silver medal in the final swim won Japanese Kanako Watanabe, the bronze gone Siobhan-Marie O'Connor from Britain.
