I. Metshin: "Our medical facilities meet the highest standards"

Medical institutions and temporary points, first-aid teams of Kazan are ready to provide professional assistance to all participants and guests of the World Cup in water sports. Experience and equipping of hospitals and clinics of the capital of Tatarstan meet the highest world standards. This was stated by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at a meeting of city staff on the preparations for the World Cup-2015.

The chief of the Health Department of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan Kazan Ramil Akhmetov told about medical support during the World Cup in water sports. He recalled that more than 600 medical workers and 23 units of ambulance crews will be involved in order to work during the FIFA World Cup. In addition, the health care provided at the facilities of assistance will have 15 mobile medical teams. 26 health centers will operate for athletes and spectators. "Also 20 massage therapists will work for free for those athletes who do not have their own medical staff," - said Akhmetov.

According to him, the city medical care will service at non-sports facilities too - in the FINA Park, international broadcast center and 5 hotels of the city, where clinics of first aid will be opened.

Inpatient care will be provided in six leading medical institutions.  The main burden will fall on the hospital №7. "In each of the hospital beds are reserved for emergency cases, the necessary drugs and equipment are brought. We will also conduct ongoing monitoring to detect cases of infectious disease, "- said the head of the Health Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan for Kazan.

Total 167 volunteers are attracted for the championship in the direction of "medicine", including 54 people on the conduct of the doping control. “About a thousand of doping tests will be taken. The doping control stations will be located both at the sports facilities and in the Village of the athletes "- reported Ramil Akhmetov.

R.Ahmetov’s report was complemented by Deputy Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan Irina Prosviryakova, spoke in detail about the availability of sports facilities for visiting by people with limited mobility. According to her, at 2 facilities - "Kazan Arena" and "Tatneft-Arena" - all necessary conditions for wheelchair users were provided before the start of preparations for the World Cup-2015. Therefore, the main preparation work was conducted in the Arena for water polo and competitive complex on the river Kazanka for high-diving, where was decided to establish a temporary lift. In addition, volunteers will work for accompanying disabled people of different categories.

Ilsur Metshin wished successful work to the medical unit and expressed hope that all the participants and guests of the championship will not face any health problems. "The experience of our medical equipment and facilities meet the highest requirements," - said the Mayor.
