(KZN.RU, November 25, by Alisa Rozanova) On the night of November 13-14, the humanitarian aid intended for flood victims in the Far East safely arrived in Khabarovsk. This was announced by Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of Kazan for Landscaping, Housing and Communal Services Alexander Lobov at today's Business Monday meeting in City Hall.
"More than 17 thousand people were affected by the natural disaster. They lost almost everything, and our assistance is vital to them. Currently, more than 700 victims are still staying in shelters," said Mr. Lobov.
It is for these people that Kazan residents collected 8.7 million rubles' worth of such items as warm clothing, heaters, appliances and personal care products. Some 100 enterprises and caring citizens engaged in the charitable effort "All Together", held in Kazan on behalf of Mayor Ilsur Metshin.
Mr. Alexander Lobov noted that the residents affected by flooding expressed gratitude for the aid, and the Khabarovsk Mayor sent a letter of thanks to Mr. Ilsur Metshin and all those who took part in the collection.
"I subscribe to the words of gratitude; may you be repaid a hundredfold," said the Mayor addressing the individuals and businesses which took part in the charitable act.
