Kazan "Big Dance" group to perform at Universiade closing ceremony
(KZN.RU, April 29, by Taisiya Basharkina) A Kazan dance group – winner of the "Big Dance" TV project – will take part in the Universiade closing ceremony. One of their dance numbers performed on the television show will be included in the final part of the ceremony, said Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin at a Business Monday. An agreement to this effect was reached with Executive Director of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Summer Games Alexei Sechenov.
It will be recalled that Kazan received the status of the dance capital of Russia by winning the "Big Dance" show presented by the "Russia-1" TV channel. Dance groups from Kazan, Rostov-on-Don and Nizhny Novgorod participated in the finals. In total, the project brought together the best dancers from eight cities of Russia.
The mayor congratulated the Kazan dancers on their victory. "After such a victory, such a cultural feat, we'll certainly ask the dancers to take part in the Universiade opening and closing ceremonies. Now we need to start detailing the scenario so that the dancers could begin rehearsals," said the mayor.
