The first
section of the Voznesensky Tract – from Gvardeyskaya Street to Pobedy Avenue –
opened in Kazan today. The ceremony was attended by the Rais of Tatarstan
Rustam Minnikhanov and the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin
The opening
of the first section with a length of 3.8 km took place as part of the
Road–2023congress in Grozny. Today, sections of roads and facilities in the
Arkhangelsk and Sverdlovsk regions have also been opened in videoconference
mode.
The head of
the Federal Road Agency Roman Novikov noted that the opening of new sections,
including the first section of the Voznesensky Tract, confirms the development
of the entire transport network.
“A very
important city facility. The construction was carried out thanks to the
assertiveness of the leadership of the republic and the skillful actions of the
construction workers. Part of the Voznesensky Tract – the first stage, from Gvardeyskaya
Street to Pobedy Avenue, will make the movement of Kazan residents even more
comfortable and will provide reverse transport accessibility,”- Roman Novikov
noted.
Congratulating
the road workers on the upcoming holiday, Tatarstan Rais Rustam Minnikhanov
stressed that the construction of the Voznesensky Tract was planned thanks to
the support of the President of Russia, the Government of the country, the
Ministry of Transport of Russia and Rosavtodor.
“Today we
are launching traffic on the major transport site – the Voznesensky Tract,
which was implemented by our road builders with the huge support of the federal
government. We are sincerely grateful to our President Vladimir Putin, the
Russian Government, the Ministry of Transport and the Federal Road Agency. The
project has been implemented. This most difficult site costs 13.4 billion
rubles. Of course, the work will be continued,”- Rustam Minnikhanov said.
After the
opening ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov and Ilsur Metshin greeted the construction
workers and thanked them for their work.
The
construction of the Voznesensky tract with a length of 11.3 km started in 2021.
In two years, work was carried out on the first section of the 3.8 km long
road. Two tunnels were built for high–speed traffic along the highway - at the
intersection of Voznesensky Tract with Gvardeyskaya Street and Pobedy Avenue and
three underground pedestrian crossings on Adel Kutuya, Rodina and Zhiganov
streets. Bike paths, storm drains, sidewalks have been laid along the six-lane
road with a width of 13-17 meters, 470 lighting poles, 985 meters of noise
screens have been installed, 5927 trees and 2230 shrubs have been planted.
Housing
construction has begun near the highway, planning projects for the construction
of six schools, 20 kindergartens, polyclinics, a sports and recreation complex
with a swimming pool and an sports arena, places have been allocated for the
improvement of boulevards and squares.
The second part
of the Voznesensky Tract will run from Pobedy Avenue to the M-7 Volga highway.
The length of this section is 7.5 km and another 2.6 km of driveways.
The total
length of the highway will be 11.3 km. The tract will become the fifth outbound
highway and will unload traffic on the Mamadyshsky tract.
