Today, the ninth shipment
of humanitarian cargo weighing 96 tons was shipped from Kazan from the “City of
Labor Valor” monument to the cities of Lisichansk and Rubezhnoye. Residents of
the affected settlements will receive food, building materials and other basic
necessities. The shipment of a humanitarian convoy of five trucks from the
Northern Railway Station was inspected by the Mayor of the capital of the republic
of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin.
“On behalf of the residents of Kazan, we are sending another humanitarian cargo to Lisichansk and Rubezhnoye with different building materials. The first humanitarian trains consisted mainly of food, now we are sending more and more building materials and everything that is needed to restore the economy. There are almost 100 tons of cargo in five trucks, and since the beginning of the collection of humanitarian aid, Kazan residents have collected and sent more than 1 thousand tons of cargo to Lisichansk, and now to Rubezhnoye,”- the head of the city stressed.
Forty tons of 500 m pipes will help in the restoration of the city's waterways and construction, acting as an element of metal construction for the foundations of bridges and overpasses. Different companies of the city made their contribution to the collection of humanitarian aid.
Forty tons of lumber, including rafters, boards and crates, will also be sent for construction work. Another 16 tons of humanitarian cargo include food (canned meat, condensed milk, cereals), overalls and accessories for communications.
Residents of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan also make their contribution and bring essential goods to the collection points of humanitarian collection points. A full list of them can be found in a special section on the portal KZN.RU.
“Residents of the city call beforehand, ask what goods are needed, now there is mainly a need for household chemicals. There is a very high demand for building materials. Underwear, socks, and wet towels are still needed,”- said Tatiana Merzlyakova, head of the ANO “Good Kazan”.
According to her, pensioners often come with letters where they convey their wishes for the residents of Lisichansk, Kazan schoolchildren also sent messages.
Earlier, by the decision of the Mayor of Kazan, collection points were opened throughout the city, where about 30 volunteers accept products, things, building materials from caring Kazan residents and entrepreneurs. The main point of collection is located at the warehouse on Gorkovskoye highway, 53a.
Before shipment of the humanitarian convoy, the mayor talked with the drivers of heavy trucks. One of them, Nail Latypov, has been involved in the transportation of aid from the very beginning. According to him, Yevgeny Varakin, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister, meets all shipments.
Centralized collection of humanitarian aid has been conducted in Kazan since last autumn. The first shipment was delivered to Lisichansk in November.
The fourth this year’s shipment of humanitarian cargo weighing about 90 tons since left the capital of the republic of Tatarstan in May. In addition to food, medicines, personal hygiene products and building materials for Lisichansk, they collected Victory Day gifts for veterans and seeds for planting at the request of local residents. And a special cargo was prepared for the mobilized Kazan citizens – thermal imagers, night vision devices, walkie-talkies, brackets and other special equipment.
