The improvement
of the first stage of the park along the embankment of the Noksa River with a
length of 800 meters has been completed in the Sovetsky district of Kazan. The
work was carried out at the Svetlaya Dolina residential complex on the site
from the Leto residential complex to school No.184. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur
Metshin inspected the renovated embankment of the river.
“Previously, the
Noksa River was in the news because of the spring floods, but now this park
area is becoming a recreation center for residents of the city”, - the head of
the city said. He noted that the territory of the Svetlaya Dolina Park is
included in the overall development strategy of the Noksa River. In the future,
the public space will be combined with other park areas – near the Vesna
residential complex and the Green residential complex. As a result, a walking
area with a length of more than 3.5 km will be arranged on the Noksa.
The embankment
has been changed completely: pedestrian paths made of paving stones and wooden
flooring, a bicycle path appeared in the park, observation decks, picnic areas,
recreation and yoga have been organized.
“Since the park
is located along the Noksa, special attention is paid to the eco–rehabilitation
of the river”, - Ruzal Farkhullin, the project designer, told the Mayor. “During
the construction, the workers cleared the river of undergrowth, wood and
stones, as well as lifted garbage from the bottom”. In total, more than 1,800
tons of waste were removed from the coastal territory.
When developing
the concept, special attention was paid to small architectural forms and
elements of the park. The main task of the designers was the use of
environmentally friendly materials. “It was important to preserve the trees,
shrubs and fit the embankment into its natural landscape”, - the designer
noted.
Additional
landscaping of the territory was carried out to improve the ecological
situation. Workers planted a new lawn on an area of 34,400 square meters and
planted about 820 trees, including hawthorns, rowan trees, poplars, maples,
apple trees, willows and other trees.
Next year, the
park will have a pump track, a workout area, a canopy, an entrance group, a
leisure center and small architectural elements.
Ilsur Metshin
noted that the new park area is as good as public spaces in the city center. “The
new Noksa embankment will be a great place for family recreation for residents
of the district”, - he stressed.
Next year, the
workers will continue the improvement of the embankment and the park area to
the Mamadyshsky tract. It is planned to equip a playground, a dog walking area,
as well as build a bridge-pier across the river.
