I.Metshin on the renovation of school No.143: “It will be a completely new educational institution”
The renovation of school No.143 with enhanced education of individual subjects is being completed in the Novo-Savinovsky district of Kazan. As of today, utilities and the doors have been replaced in the building, the front, concrete blind areas, bathrooms and classrooms have been repaired. “After the renovation, it will be a completely new school”, - said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan during the inspection visit to the educational institution.
The school with an area of over 9 thousand sq.m on Chetaeva Street, built in 1991, has never been overhauled for 30 years and there was only a partial repair. In particular, the roof leaked, which damaged many classrooms. “Last year we repaired the roof of the building, and this year we started the overhaul”, - the Mayor said. He looked around the school lobby, the hall and classrooms.
Presently, the renovation is almost completed– the workers have replaced the water supply, sewerage, ventilation, heating, electricity, low-current systems and started the fine finishing. In addition, the front of the building has been completely renovated, the design of which was developed jointly with students and their parents.
“About 200 people are involved in the overhaul of the facility every day. The work is being carried out almost around the clock to complete by the beginning of the school year”, - Aidar Valiullin, director of the contracting organization STK LLC, informed the Mayor.
“All the works are carried out according to the approved schedule. Our task is to complete the renovation by the beginning of the school year”, - Ilsur Metshin noted. About 870 schoolchildren will go to the renovated school this year.
For reference, last year the roof was renovated and insulated, the alarm button was replaced, turnstiles for access control were repaired, two gyms and a canteen were repaired. In addition, from 2016 to 2020, bathrooms and stairwells were renewed at the school, and a basketball and volleyball court was equipped in the yard.
Besides school No.143, seven schools and twelve preschools were renovated this year. The new school building of gymnasium No. 18 with the Tatar language of instruction will open On September 1. This summer, the renovation is underway at 31 canteens located in the buildings of 30 educational institutions.
