Kazan school and
preschool students will be provided with food without increasing its cost until
the end of the school year. All necessary products are delivered to the
Department of Food and Social Nutrition without interruptions. The areas of
warehouses and refrigeration equipment allow the company to store more than 1
thousand tons of products. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the
department together with representatives of the city and republican media.
Ilsur Metshin
reminded that anti-crisis headquarters operates in Kazan, which aims to support
the city's enterprises, as well as business representatives. “Providing schools
and kindergartens with uninterrupted catering is one of the areas of work of
the headquarters. Now it is important that parents know that their children
will be fed. And there is no doubt about it – the strategic reserve of the
department allows to organize tasty and balanced nutrition for children, while
maintaining food prices”, - the head of the city noted.
To date, the
department provides daily meals to 283 thousand people at 1004 institutions in Kazan
and 10 districts of the republic - these are 302 schools, 685 kindergartens and
8 hospitals.
The department
has no supply disruptions – 90% of products are purchased from domestic manufacturers,
65% of them are republican.
Despite the
replacement of products, students should continue to eat healthy, the Mayor of
Kazan emphasized. “Children should receive balanced meals. Apples, beets and carrots
can replace imported fruits and vegetables”, - I.Metshin said and looked
forward that this summer will be fruitful.
“Everything that
is now stored in the warehouses of the department is the result of systematic
work on the development of the agro-industrial complex of the republic. Last
year was dry, despite this, the output volumes are impressive. I hope that this
summer will be favorable for the harvest,”- the Mayor of Kazan said.
The system of
warehouses and refrigeration equipment with an area of 4 thousand sq.m. allows
the company to store more than 1 thousand tons of products, which is a two-week
supply of fruits and vegetables, groceries, meat, fish and other products.
In order to
avoid problems with the provision of food for some items, the department has
increased stocks. “We are confident in the future, especially since we have
signed long-term contracts with suppliers who confirm their obligations. We
have increased stocks of tea, rice, cocoa, buckwheat and condensed milk to the
volumes needed for six weeks, as well as stocks of meat and poultry for three
weeks”, - Rima Mukhamedshina said. In general, dairy and bakery products are
purchased daily, fruits and meat – every other day, and vegetables and other
products - once a week.
“It is not the
first crisis, but each of them is a new challenge. We will do everything
possible to use this time to the best advantage, to engage in import
substitution and to open new production facilities, - said Ilsur Metshin. – I
urge all businessmen to submit their proposals to the city headquarters,
because now is the time when you need to learn new things, develop technologies
that will allow to replace foreign goods”.
