More than 220 thousand people visited the public spaces of Kazan on the New Year holidays

During the New Year holidays, more than 220 thousand people visited the public spaces of Kazan. The festive winter program “Parks nearby” was held in parks and squares for them. Marat Zakirov, director of the MBE “Directorate of Parks and Squares” told about the results of the winter season at the Business Monday meeting at the Executive Committee of Kazan.

The festive program “Parks nearby” was held in public spaces from December 19, 2020 to January 11, 2021.

The most popular among the citizens was the main New Year’s tree at the Kazan Family Center, it was visited by more than 135 thousand people.

Among the popular recreation places was the skating rink at the Black Lake, almost 90 thousand people visited it during the New Year holidays.

The mobile music stage Studio Winter, where Kazan creative groups performed, was very popular this winter. For 6 days, Studio Winter visited 11 city locations, and its audience was more than 2.5 thousand people.

According to Marat Zakirov, the residents of the city liked the “Decadence” performances by the street theater from St. Petersburg. The performances were held in seven parks, almost 1.5 thousand spectators saw the performances.

The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin emphasized that the winter program in the city was organized at a high level according to the positive feedback from citizens. “This year, after the renovation of parks, we have received a lot of positive feedback on their activities. It is important that people not only visit public spaces with their families, but also actively spend time there – skiing, skating, tubing”, - Ilsur Metshin said.
