Today, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov
inspected the construction of the Big Kazan Ring (BKR).Together
with the head of the Republic, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin and Tatarstan Minister
of transport and road infrastructure Lenar Safin visited the site.
Works within the first stage of BKR construction -
from Midhat Bulatov str. to Tekhnicheskaya str. – completed by 90%. Presently,
the builders have completed all concrete work, now the roadbed to be put, the
contractors told to Tatarstan President. At the same time, the roadside area is
being improved: workers are planting trees and shrubs, installing their
irrigation system, as well as outdoor lighting networks. In total, 1044
large-sized trees and 3 thousand shrubs are planned for planting at site.
At the second stage of construction of the BKR - on
the site from Borisovskaya str. to Tekhnicheskaya str. – utilities are being
rebuilt, the roadbed is being put, sections for tram rails are being prepared
and a bridge is being built across the Monastyrskaya branch. Concrete work on
the construction of supports for the bridge has been completed, the Tatarstan President’s
Press Office reports.
For information, the construction of the first stage
of the Big Kazan Ring within the “Safe and high-quality roads” national project
started in July 2019 on the site from Midhat Bulatov str. to Borisovskaya str.,
where a four-lane road with a length of 800 m is being built with an overpass
over the Fermsky highway and an underground passage.
The second stage of construction, on the site from Borisovskaya
str. Tekhnicheskaya str., started in March. The length of the section is 1.22
km. The four-lane road is designed as a first-class urban main street with two
lanes in each direction. The 700 – m section is planned to be commissioned in
2020, and the 522-m section in 2021.
In addition, during the construction of the BKR, tram
rails are being put – it is planned to launch the tram by the end of August.
The total length of the ring route will be 34 km – this will be the longest
tram route in Russia.
