The Lebyazhye park was visited today by Tatarstan President
Rustam Minnikhanov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. They inspected the results
of eco- rehabilitation system of lakes and land improvement.
The park was restored thanks to the efforts of Kazanorgsintez
PJSC and TAIF Group. As part of the project, a large-scale eco-rehabilitation
of the Lebyazhye lake cascade was carried out. The drying- up Maloe Lebyazhye
lake was cleaned up, while two previously lost lakes have been recreated there.
A special three-layer screen was placed at the bottom of the two lakes to
prevent water from going down.
A pumping station was installed to fill the lakes with
water.
Rustam Minnikhanov was informed that special plants will be
planted in reservoirs for natural water purification.
Then the participants of the inspection moved to the boats. Tatarstan
President was told that the territory of Lebyazhye is a favorite recreation
place of citizens. In summer, the lakes become the center of beach recreation. The
Sukhoe Lebyazhye lake becomes a festival site with its own activities. Pedestrian
networks, entrance zones, benches and playgrounds have been set up, as well as
lighting, Tatarstan President’s Press Office reports.
The main part of the park will function as an urban forest
with a minimal impact on the environment. A particularly
valuable area with many rare species of plants will become a natural reserve
park, while eco tracks and additional bridges will connect the lake system. The
park improvement works will continue.
