The construction of a ski and biathlon complex in Mirny was discussed in Kazan
(KZN.RU, August 27). Yesterday, the meeting was held at the Kazan Kremlin on the construction of a ski and biathlon complex in Mirny.
Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, held the meeting, which was attended by Asgat Safarov, the head of the Presidential Administration of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Rafail Gilmanov, the Security Council Secretary of the RT, Vladimir Leonov, the minister of Sports of the R, and others.
A ski and biathlon complex is planned to be built next to the sports center “Dinamo” in the Kazan settlement “Mirny”. The project includes ski slopes, a shooting range, stands and wax cabins. The implementation of the construction is proposed in five stages.
It is assumed that all conditions will be created for holding training camps and competitions at various levels in the territory of the new sports complex.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that skiing is developing quite successfully in the republic. The infrastructure is being improved, ski resorts are being built. He expressed confidence that the ski and biathlon complex will be in demand among the Tatarstan people and instructed the relevant departments to develop a draft of a new sports facility, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
