I. Metshin inspected the overhaul progress at the school №114 in the Privolzhsky district

(KZN.RU, August 13, Ksenia Shvetsova). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, assessed the overhaul progress at the school №114 in the Privolzhsky district of the city and ordered to equip a walking area here for residents of the micro-district. An additional building will be overhauled and the main building of the educational institution will be partially renovated by the new school year. The head of the city noted that the school will create completely new conditions for the education of children.

The school №114 was built in 1957. In 1968, an additional building with an area of 661 square meters was built on the territory of the institution, which housed workshops. They held labor lessons, children learned to work on machines and received a technical education. Today, repair work is underway here. The building will be completely renovated by the new school year.

“After the repair, we plan to place additional education section here. Not only students, but also all residents of the micro-district will be able to attend them. We will train professionals who will help our district, the city, and the republic”, Vitaly Stakheev, the director of school №114, shared his plans. “On the basis of the school, we will conduct music classes, labor lessons, and develop modern areas of further education, such as robotics, web design”.

The overhaul of the main school building was carried out in 2012. Then the workers completely repaired the roof and facade of the building, updated engineering communications, sanitary facilities, replaced windows and doors. However, overhaul did not include all the types of work that needed to be carried out, according to V. Stakheev.

This year, the renewal of the school continued with the repair of the ground floor, gym, catering unit. Also in the future, it is planned to update the corridors of the second and third floors and the assembly hall. Today, the overhaul is completed by 60%, the contractor is the OOO “Remontstroiservis”.

The head of the city was acquainted with the plans by Rima Mukhamedshina, the general director of the Department of Food and Social Catering, to update the catering and canteen. She said that a school restaurant will open in the canteen for students. “Before the repair in the canteen, there were 108 seats, and after all the work there will be 150 ones”, noted R. Mukhamedshina. She added that this would increase the coverage of students with hot meals.

550 schoolchildren study at the school today with a design capacity of the building for 324 children. After the repair work and the opening of the additional building, it is planned that the school will be organized in one shift.

The lack of school space issue was raised during a meeting of Vladimir Putin, the President of the RF, with representatives of the public in Kazan in February this year. One of the options for solving this issue was proposed to involve unused areas in the educational process: outbuildings to schools and other territories.

In addition to overhaul, landscaping is being carried out with the installation of asphalt pavement, the construction of a sports ground and a football field. I. Metshin reminded that for the residents of the region this territory is one of the main walking areas, and instructed to take this into account in the work. “It is clear that this is usually not included in the repair of schools. But historically, it has happened that people come here, mothers with strollers, children and elderly Kazan citizens go for a walk. It is necessary to make a walking zone for them, to increase the number of benches. And it is imperative to provide the construction of a playground with small architectural forms”, said the Mayor.

In general, the school is almost finished, and all work will be completed by the school year, noted the head of the city. “We are pleased that by September 1, the residents of the micro-district will receive new educational conditions for their children”, said I. Metshin. “The gym is being repaired, we will do an assembly hall, a school restaurant. Everything will be there to ensure that students receive knowledge at a level worthy of the capital of Tatarstan”.

Due to the fact that Kazan is consistently setting records for fertility, the city is in great need of kindergartens and schools, added the Mayor. “This year we are opening two large schools in the residential complex “Vesna” for 1500 places and on Gareev Street for 1224 places”, said I. Metshin. “There will be an extension to the school “Slntse” and the school №93, which will allow us to organize the educational process in one shift”.

Azat Nigmatzyanov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, Rustem Gafarov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, Ilnar Khidiyatov, the head of the Department of Education, Andrey Lobov, the head of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts’ administration, and others also took part in the inspection.
