April 26). Today, flowers were laid at the monument to the great Tatar poet on
the day of the 133rd birth anniversary of Gabdulla Tukay.

Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, Anatoly Seryshev, an assistant to the
President of Russia, Mintimer Shaimiev, the state secretary of the RT, Farid
Mukhametshin, the chairman of the State Council of the RT, Asgat Safarov, the
head of the Staff of the President of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of
Kazan, heads of ministries and departments of the RT, deputies of the State
Council of the RT, figures culture and art of Tatarstan took part in the ceremony.
In honor of
the Day of the Native Language, a solemn event will be held in the new concert
hall named after Ilgam Shakirov in the exhibition complex “Kazan Expo” today,
reports the press service of the President of the RT.
133 years
have passed since the birth of the great Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay. He became
the author of numerous translations of Russian and foreign classics into Tatar,
stood at the origins of Tatar periodicals and magazines. He became one of the
first Muslim poets who included illustrations in his works. His textbooks are
still on the desktop for teachers and researchers.
