Ilsur Metshin: “Yudino always had its own feature, it is important to keep it”

(KZN.RU, August 14, Alsu Safina). A large-scale complex improvement of Yudino Settlement continues in Kazan. On August 29, the 100th anniversary of its foundation will be celebrated. A lot of changes have been made in Yudino to this date. Since the beginning of the year, more than 20 streets have been renewed. Major repairs of 8 houses and 9 yards are under way, the facades of 24 houses will be renovated. The course of work was discussed at a working meeting with the participation of Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. The head of the city expressed confidence that the degree of comfort in the settlement will equal the living conditions in other districts of Kazan.

Over the past years, 42 houses have been repaired in the settlement, 35 objects of the street-road network with a total area of 133 thousand square meters. A new round of development started on the eve of the anniversary. Along with roads, houses, yards, and infrastructure, it was decided to pay attention to social facilities the House of Culture “Zheleznodorozhnikov”, the stadium “Locomotiv”, and the Alley of Fame with memorial complex dedicated to the Great Patriotic War.

A meeting began in the square in front of the HoC “Zheleznodorozhnikov”. This year, on behalf of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, the HoC with more than 90-year history is included in the program of renovation of cultural facilities in Kazan.

Participants of the meeting discussed the program of celebrating the 100th anniversary of Yudino, which is scheduled for August 29. The square at the HoC will be the main venue for the celebration.

Ilsur Metshin inspected the renovated facades of the houses, which go to the central square of the settlement. Some of them have already been completed. Now they are dressed in new colors: marsh green and muted pink. Zhanna Belitskaya, the deputy head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Development, said that the chosen colors correspond to the concept, which is based on the history of the settlement. “We would like to create a colored, but not variegated environment here”, she explained and added that the color scheme was chosen taking into account the future improvement of the territory, and the residents approved it.

“Yudino has always had its own status, its own feature. Therefore, it is important to preserve it, choose in the dialogue with the population both color schemes and elements of improvement. Plus, we must take into account the wishes of experts”, said the head of the city. It is supposed to repair the facades of more than 20 houses located in the central streets of Yudino.

Not far from the central square is the Alley of Fame. Works on the improvement of the Alley and the memorial complex located on it have been started. It is assumed that the Yudino people will meet the next Victory Day at the renovated complex.

New conditions for the sportsmen will be created. The stadium “Locomotiv”, the main base of Kazan skiers and biathlonists, are being upgraded now.

The construction of a full-size football field with the artificial surface will be completed by September 1. It is supported by a federal grant, reported Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairperson of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sports. She told that the students of the sports schools “Miras” and “Savinovo” will be training there. The coaches will recruit young players in Yudino and train them at the stadium “Lokomotiv”. There will be 6 running athletics tracks around the football field with a standard length of 400 m. It will allow holding competitions of various levels there.

In addition, soon the construction of a covered ice palace of year-round use will begin in Yudino. The idea of building an ice arena in the settlement was voiced at the meeting of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, with residents of the settlement and employees of the Gorky Railway in March this year.

Participants of the meeting visited the site of the planned construction of a new sports facility and discussed the details of the project. Svetlana Vostrikova said that the ice palace will become a training place for the children's sports school “Zilant”, the only one that does not have its own base.

Mikhail Nikolayevich, an old resident of Yudino and an honorary railroad worker of Russia, expressed the gratitude to the head of the city for the work, which began on the eve of the anniversary of the settlement. He noted that much is being done for the residents of the settlement. Ilsur Metshin noted that Yudino's transformation became possible thanks to the support of the President of the RT.

The inhabitant of the settlement also appealed to the Mayor of Kazan with a request to repair the road around the Yudino cemetery where there are graves of the heroes of the socialist labor, participants in the war. Ilsur Metshin instructed the head of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts’ administration to work out this issue. In conclusion, he noted the importance of work with the appeals of residents.

Denis Kalinkin, the head of the Executive Committee, Iskander Giniyatullin, the deputy head of the Executive Committee, Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee for External Improvement, and representatives of contract organizations also attended the meeting.
