Ilsur Metshin meets with Capita Symonds and Urbanlegacy CEO’s

(KZN.RU, October 21, by Renat Shirmanov). Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin held in London a series of meetings with the CEO’s of the world's largest companies. The parties discussed cooperation in implementing municipal projects in the capital of Tatarstan.

The Mayor of Kazan met with the executive director of Capita Symonds Jonathan Goring. The company is part of the Capita Group, whose clients are major cities around the world. Capita Symonds is engaged in the design of buildings and development of programs for environmental protection and urban transportation management.

In the course of the meeting, the problems of urban road network development and traffic congestion control were discussed. The Mayor of Kazan was interested in the latest developments in this sphere. The parties discussed in detail paid entry into central London, which has reduced the load on the roads of Great Britain’s capital. The project was implemented by Capita Symonds.

The Mayor of Kazan also met with representatives of Urbanlegacy, which is known to promote city brands. Ilsur Metshin met with the company co-owners James White and Jerry Fielder, who told the head of Tatarstan’s capital about ways of making cities famous. Ilsur Metshin invited representatives of Urbanlegacy to Kazan, so that they could develop a project to raise Kazan’s cultural and tourist attractiveness.

At the end of his working visit, the Mayor of Kazan visited the construction site of the 2012 Olympic Village and a new stadium with a capacity of 80 thousand spectators. The experience of the London colleagues will be helpful in organizing the 2013 Summer Student Games in Kazan.
