May 9, Ksenia Shvetsova). Today, on the day of celebration of the 73rd
anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the laying of flowers to
the Eternal Fire and the Monument to mothers and widows of the dead soldiers
took place in the Kazan Pobedy Park.
Veterans of
the Great Patriotic War, Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, Alexey
Pesoshin, the prime minister of the RT, Farid Mukhametshin, the chairman of the
State Council of the RT, Mintimer Shaimiev, the State Councilor of the RT,
Asgat Safarov, the head of the Presidential Administration of the RT, Ilsur
Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, as well as heads Republican departments and the
Executive Committee took part in the ceremony.
Wreaths
were laid to the Eternal Flame Colonnade of the Memorial of Glory. The memory
of those who died during the war was honored by a minute of silence. Also,
flowers were laid to the Monument to the mothers and widows of the dead
soldiers, to the memorial to the sailors who perished in the Great Patriotic
War.
Together
with others, Kamil Timaev, Colonel of the Reserve Border Troops honored the
memory of the fallen soldiers. He was born on an unusual date, symbolizing the
beginning of the Great Patriotic War on June 22, 1945. His parents died on the
fronts of the war. And today he, along with all the participants of the
ceremony, laid flowers to the Eternal Flame. “Every year, the celebration of
the Victory Day in Kazan is becoming more widespread. And the attitude of the
youth pleases. We look at it with tears in our eyes, because the memory of our
dead fathers, grandfathers, brothers should never be lost. Young people
especially need to instill these feelings, so that they carry them in
themselves and pass on to their descendants. Victory Day is the greatest
holiday in the life of our people, which is celebrated all over the world”.
The
President of the RT and his entourage congratulated the audience on the Victory
Day, talked with the veterans and participants of the ceremony, and took a few
memorable pictures.
