(KZN.RU, May 8). Today, a meeting of the organizing committee “Victory” was held in the House of Government of the RT to prepare and celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in the republic.

The meeting was held by Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT. The Alexey Pesoshin, the prime minister of the RT, Farid Mukhametshin, the chairman of the State Council of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, veterans, heads of public organizations and leading enterprises of Tatarstan took part in the work.

In the course of his speech, Rustam Minnikhanov said that all the veterans of the Great Patriotic War living in Tatarstan and persons equated with them will be awarded the medal of the Republic of Tatarstan “For Valiant Labor”.

“As a token of respect and gratitude to our veterans, a decree was signed to award the Republic of Tatarstan medal “For Valiant Labor” to participants and invalids of the Great Patriotic War, juvenile prisoners of concentration camps and citizens bearing the sign “Resident of Sieged Leningrad”, said the President of the RT.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, this work has already begun. “I ask to provide a solemn address delivery of medals with the involvement of representatives of government bodies, youth, and public organizations. It is necessary to reach everyone”, emphasized the head of the RT.

Earlier, Leila Fazleeva, the vice-prime minister of the RT, announced the awarding of veterans living in the republic. Currently, 46177 veterans of the Great Patriotic War live on the territory of Tatarstan.

The meeting also announced the beginning of preparations for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, reports the press service of the President of the RT.

“May 9, 1945, is the most important event in the history of our country. This is a holy day for all of us. Our task is to preserve and convey the memory of those days to the descendants. A road map was signed on the creation of an organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Cabinet of Ministers of the RT, starting from this day, have to start forming a plan of measures for its preparation and holding”, said Rustam Minnikhanov.
