(KZN.RU, August 26, by Ekaterina Andreeva) A new museum of the socialist way of life has opened in the historic center Kazan.
Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin cut the red ribbon on the new premises, located on the second floor at 6 Universitetskaya Street.
Today, the Museum of the Socialist Way of Life presented a new exhibit entitled "Soviet School" to its first visitors. Among the exhibits are pens, pencils, backpacks, uniforms, propaganda posters, pictures, textbooks, exercise books, rare books, and much more. Each generation can find something of interest here. As Ilsur Metshin noted, there are a lot of things, "that within a moment transport you into childhood."
"Soviet school is a very important piece of our history in which we were born, grew up, lived and were happy," said I. Metshin.
The musical accompaniment corresponded to the exhibition theme: it was from the Soviet period.
The museum, according to the head of the city, could become a tourist attraction of Kazan. "People from the capitalist countries had no opportunity to come to the Soviet Union. And now, having arrived in the new, open Russia and coming to the museum, they will see what the Soviet Union was like. Here they will get a very good idea of our bright past, our yesterdays. And leaving the museum, they will see our present and our bright future," concluded I. Metshin.
