Ilsur Metshin visited Winter Book Festival

(Kazan City KZN.RU, December 12). In Kazan in the Center for Contemporary Culture "Change" the first day of the Winter Book Festival launched today. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the event, which runs until the end of tomorrow. He talked with the organizers and bought some books at the book fair, which was attended by representatives of various publishers outside the book mass market.

Book Fair is probably the most important event that gathers so many people at the festival. Here everybody can purchase contemporary artistic, journalistic, scientific, business, documentary and children's literature from a variety of publishers at publishing prices.

This year's festival takes place with some differences. For example, this time the focus is given to books on fine arts, architecture, photography, cinema, theater, fashion, design, as well as children's books and graphic novels. And in a public festival program emphasis is placed on lectures about contemporary art, design, book illustration and author photo books. Mayor of Kazan supported this approach and bought children’s book, business literature and art book.

Well-known Russian art historians, practicing designers, philosophers, contemporary artists, historians and scholars of visual culture of the XX century are the guests of the festival this year.

Of course, this year's festival will not do without the traditional master-classes, which will also be held on a given subject - workshops from book publishers and professors of the Kazan art and design teachers will be organized for children and their parents.

The first day of the festival will be finished with official party, which will take place at the bar "Salt" at 20.00. It offers a lecture-performance by artist Alexandr Galkin and cosmic DJ set by Oleg Kostrov.

Residents and visitors of Kazan will be able to join the festival, to become parties of the master classes or buy books on publishing prices during tomorrow in CCC "Change".
