(Kazan City
KZN.RU, September 4). Today a new training and laboratory building of the A.M.Butlerov
Chemical Institute of KFU opened in Kazan. The opening ceremony was attended by
the Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of
Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Education and Science
of RT Engel Fattakhov.
As the
portal of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan says, an 8-storey
building will house 37 large laboratories. They will conduct research in
organic chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, petro chemistry, as well as in the
field of fine chemicals and catalysis. This powerful research complex will be
an essential element of the petrochemical cluster of the republic.
Recall the
ceremony of laying of the symbolic stone for the construction of the new
building took place on 21 September 2011 in the framework of the Butlerov International
Congress on organic chemistry. The construction site was deployed behind the
old building housing of the chemical faculty (it was built in the 40's - early
50-ies).
Summary
Kazan
(Volga) Federal University is one of the oldest universities in Russia, in 2014
it celebrated the 210-year anniversary. Currently KFU is one of the best
universities in the country participating in the program to increase the
competitiveness of the leading universities of the Russian Federation at the
global level (the project "5-100"). The priority areas of its activity:
medicine and pharmaceuticals, oil production and refining, aerospace and
information technology, advanced materials.
